SONET services provide recognized reliability and performance from a well established and proven industry standard. It is ideal for backhaul services for wireless, ISP, LD, voice and many other applications. Balsam’s SONET services are very flexible and scalable and can just in time bandwidth with guaranteed capacity at very cost effective rates.

BalsamWest provides full protection on most routes through geographic divers routing and equipment protection at every level to include the availability of fully protected (4 fiber handoffs) handoffs. BalsamWest offers SONET services at speeds of DS-3 (45mbps) to OC-192 (10gbps). When on the BalsamWest SONET network our services are delivered along both a primary and a secondary path, and provides for auto protection switching. Customer protection option include either a two fiber (1:0) or a four fiber (1+1) handoff when connecting their equipment to out fiber network.

Note: DS-3 services are provided with an electrical handoff, however DS-3 mapping across an optical OC-3 or higher available as well.
